Not Another Wall Flower

January 21, 2013

Express sweater, Target Mossimo scarf, Paige denim jeans, American Apparel Philip Persio watch, Etienne Aigner 'Gilbert' boots

I am in love with this scarf as it catches your attention right away. Beautiful colors that make it very wearable with many different outfits. I would normally wear it with a more subtle black top but on this mesh knit sweater from Express it seems to be more loud. I love these dark wash jeans by Paige because they are much more professional and give a polished look compared to my other washed out and faded jeans. A great addition to my now more "adult" closet. I've also added to my watch collection with this simple and clean black leather Men's vintage watch from American Apparel. However, I can't say that I instantly loved my new Etienne Aigner boots. I bought them online at SlimCalfboot.com and had them custom made for my slimmer calves and they turned out a little too tight. The store provided me great customer service and stretched out the boot for me once again so that I could wear them more comfortably. They are a very nice classic riding boot with the logo printed along the shaft and the darker leather is great for the fall and winter time. A great quality boot overall.

Denim and Leather

December 9, 2012

On Meena: Abercrombie denim jacket, Cotton On tank, PacSun jeans, Forever21 booties
On Crystal: Asos skater dress, Zara quilted leather jacket, Cathy Jean leather boots

On Meena:
I bought this denim jacket while I was in high school and obsessed with Abercrombie at the time. When denim jackets became more in style the last couple years, I decided to pull this jacket out of retirement and rolled up the sleeves. It's great to wear with colored jeans or even a dress. Just goes to show that the denim jacket is a truly classic piece. I don't care so much for hi low skirts and dresses but I love hi low tops. The top is a woven fabric that is translucent and is much nicer in the summer to wear alone since it is very casual and loose. The teal jeans are definitely the focal point of this outfit and are extremely comfortable and the suede booties are a fun way to edge up your look in the fall.

On Crystal:
The wrap dress I'm wearing is low-cut, has a really full skirt, and cute cap sleeves. I love it because the cut is really flattering to my body and the fun, floral pattern makes any outfit feel more cheerful and unique. I often wear the dress alone or pair it with a sweater or cardigan. Today I threw on a leather jacket to toughen the look, and I ended up really loving the contrast between the girly dress and the more rugged jacket. With the brown leather boots, the outfit looks casual and chic. This would also be a great night time look, and I'd definitely wear it again when I hit up my local bar :)

Sunset/ Smitten As A Kitten

September 21, 2012

On Meena: H&M top, Forever 21 jeans, H&M flats, Coach crossbody, Casio watch
On Crystal: 1/2 sleeve shirt, BP skirt, Forever 21 heels, Aldo purse, Tag Heuer watch

The colors in a sunset are some of my favorite colors. I think this top works nicely with the white jeans since the colors pop a lot more. Growing up, finding jeans that fit perfectly for my body type was always difficult, so when you finally find a brand and a fit that you like, its definitely a good feeling. My black cutout flats are my second pair of cutout flats. They seem to work well with most of my outfits when I don't feel like wearing heels.

Crystal put together a sweet, romantic look by pairing a softly pleated skirt with her floral print bag. I think she looks like she's in love! We are finally getting a hang of posing and picture taking. We end up having a lot of fun laughing at our awkward poses that we capture by mistake.
