Not Another Wall Flower

January 21, 2013

Express sweater, Target Mossimo scarf, Paige denim jeans, American Apparel Philip Persio watch, Etienne Aigner 'Gilbert' boots

I am in love with this scarf as it catches your attention right away. Beautiful colors that make it very wearable with many different outfits. I would normally wear it with a more subtle black top but on this mesh knit sweater from Express it seems to be more loud. I love these dark wash jeans by Paige because they are much more professional and give a polished look compared to my other washed out and faded jeans. A great addition to my now more "adult" closet. I've also added to my watch collection with this simple and clean black leather Men's vintage watch from American Apparel. However, I can't say that I instantly loved my new Etienne Aigner boots. I bought them online at SlimCalfboot.com and had them custom made for my slimmer calves and they turned out a little too tight. The store provided me great customer service and stretched out the boot for me once again so that I could wear them more comfortably. They are a very nice classic riding boot with the logo printed along the shaft and the darker leather is great for the fall and winter time. A great quality boot overall.

Sunday Morning Blues

October 21, 2012

On Meena: H&M shirt, H&M khakis, Target belt, Aldo bag, Paprika loafers, Casio watch
On Crystal: Gap sweater, miniskirt, knit scarf, Forever 21 heels, Tag Heuer watch

My boyfriend got me a nice camera for my birthday.. can you tell? :) Meena and I are having so much fun doing this blog together and we're really excited to be able to take blog-quality photos from now on. We chose this location because we liked the cool tunnel effect the blue bridge has on our pictures.

Meena is sporting a casual work outfit that you can wear to the office. It is simple, clean, and preppy. Her bag is simple and classic too and looks like the Longchamp bag, but she got it for only $10! She said it was the last one in stock so they gave her an additional discount. I personally love large bags because it allows you to bring a lot of things with you so you can be prepared for any situation.

I paired an oversized sweater and drapey scarf with a short skirt and tall heels to create a warm and comfortable look that is still cute, girly, and flirty. If I have on something revealing, I always balance it out with a more conservative piece.. gotta keep it classy. I got the floral skirt in Japan.. I love it because it always adds a feminine pop of color to my outfit.

Sunset/ Smitten As A Kitten

September 21, 2012

On Meena: H&M top, Forever 21 jeans, H&M flats, Coach crossbody, Casio watch
On Crystal: 1/2 sleeve shirt, BP skirt, Forever 21 heels, Aldo purse, Tag Heuer watch

The colors in a sunset are some of my favorite colors. I think this top works nicely with the white jeans since the colors pop a lot more. Growing up, finding jeans that fit perfectly for my body type was always difficult, so when you finally find a brand and a fit that you like, its definitely a good feeling. My black cutout flats are my second pair of cutout flats. They seem to work well with most of my outfits when I don't feel like wearing heels.

Crystal put together a sweet, romantic look by pairing a softly pleated skirt with her floral print bag. I think she looks like she's in love! We are finally getting a hang of posing and picture taking. We end up having a lot of fun laughing at our awkward poses that we capture by mistake.

Eyelet/ Carolina Blue

September 18, 2012

On Meena: Nordstrom top, Forever 21 skirt, Aldo heels, Michael Kors watch, Coach crossbody
On Crystal: American Apparel cardigan and high-waisted shorts, Brass Plum belt, sunglasses

I love this flowy sheer top with the eyelet detail around the neckline. It seems to make any outfit more feminine and dressy. I paired the looser top with a tighter bottom. I usually wear the skirt high waisted but I like this top to be flowy. The heels are brown so they almost work as nude heels for me and I’ve been obsessed with cutouts for a long time now so these have definitely been my go to heels for the summer. We had people watching us model our outfits this time in downtown mountain view. One guy even decided he would offer us posing tips, so we smiled and walked away.

We were racing the sun in this shoot haha. There wasn't that much light coming in so these photos are really blurry.. we're thinking about investing in a decent camera so please let us know if you have any recommendations!

On the Other Side/ Colorblock

September 7, 2012

On Meena: H&M blouse, American Apparel skirt, Target belt, Aldo heels, Casio watch
On Crystal: Francesca's Collection dress, Nordstrom scarf, Macy's sandals

Hi everyone! We're so excited for our first blog post and we found this awesome spot right by where we live. Meena's outfit is very soft and flowy in earthy colors. We had perfect timing with the sunset and a lot of beginners luck. I decided to go with a colorful look for the summertime, and I always like to pair my outfits with a bold and eclectic purse, scarf, or hairpiece.
